Ohio State added its first quarterback in the 2019 class Sunday when four-star quarterback Dwan Mathis announced on Twitter that he had flipped his commitment from Michigan State to the Buckeyes.

Mathis is the first player Ohio State has landed from the state of Michigan since offensive lineman Michael Jordan in the 2016 class. The Belleville, Michigan, native is ranked as the No. 6 recruit in the state and the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Mathis is one of nine players in the 2019 class hailing from outside the state of Ohio and is one of nine four-star recruits in the class.
