The Ohio State University Police Department issued a public safety notice to the community on Saturday regarding a sexual assault that occurred on Neil Avenue.

The incident took place at 12:30 a.m. Saturday when a female student reported that an unknown male approached her near the 9th Avenue Garage.

“The suspect displayed a gun and told her to come with him. He then forced the female student to walk off-campus where he used a knife to threaten her prior to committing sexual assault outside a nearby residence,” the release said. “The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.”

The suspect was described as a white male that was short with a slim build and short buzzed hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white t-shirt with the Michael Jordan Jumpman graphic on the front.

The police department said anyone with knowledge of the crime should call 614-292-2121 and that the Department of Public Safety will have increased patrols in the area.
