As the first day of classes near, Ohio State’s campus will be buzzing with activity and those on campus will want to be aware of construction and traffic impacts during move-in week from Wednesday to Saturday.

New Cannon Drive opening

The northbound State Route 315 exit ramp to Medical Center Drive/King Avenue will reopen Wednesday, as will New Cannon Drive, which lies between King Avenue and the State Route 315 exit.

Work on Cannon Drive near the Wexner Medical Center will, however, continue through 2019 and the North Cannon Garage will still be accessed via 10th Avenue.

Early arrival move-in

Early arrival move-in will take place on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and motorists should expect related delays.

Expect road closures, heavy traffic and bus services delay during the move-in time on many streets including College Road, Woodruff Avenue / Woody Hayes Drive, Fred Taylor Drive, 11th Avenue, 12th Avenue, Herrick Drive, Neil Avenue, Lane Avenue and High Street.

Beyonce and Jay-Z

As students are settling in on campus this week, Jay-Z and Beyonce will be coming to Ohio Stadium for a concert on Thursday.

Parking lots around Ohio Stadium will begin to be reserved for the concert starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday and traffic delays are anticipated to begin around 4 p.m.

Student move-in

A busy week on campus will wrap up on Saturday with move-in day and heavy traffic disruption ensuing.

Central campus will be closed to all non-move-in traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and drivers are heavily discouraged from driving through the campus area.
