The Ohio State women’s soccer team will take a trip to face No. 5 Florida at 7 p.m. on Friday evening, before returning home for a match at 7 p.m. Sunday against Duquesne.

The third consecutive away game arrives after back-to-back losses, falling to Duke and North Carolina at the start of the season.

The Blue Devils scored two second-half goals, the first only three minutes into the half, in the season opener against the Buckeyes to clinch the victory. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels secured their win by tallying two free-kick goals, one in the 37th minute and another in the 58th.

Senior goalkeeper Devon Kerr rallied eight saves against North Carolina and stopped five shots at Duke. Last season, Kerr tied with Emily Haynam and Amber Barnes for second on the Buckeyes’ single-season shutout list, ending the year with a total of nine clean sheets. Kerr is ranked 24th in the nation with 13 saves.

Florida is undefeated through two games, having prevailed in a 2-1 victory over Washington last Friday before a 4-2 win on Sunday over Florida Atlantic.

When the two teams met in Columbus in 2015, Ohio State won the game against the Gators in a 1-0 overtime victory.

After suffering a duo of 2-0 defeats, the Buckeyes will look to bounce back this Friday in Florida.

Looking ahead, the Duquesne Dukes suffered back-to-back losses to Arkansas and Penn State and is 0-2 on the year. In the previous matchup against Duquesne, the Buckeyes won a 3-0 victory in Columbus in 2012.
