After leading No. 5 Ohio State to a 77-31 victory over Oregon State on Saturday in the season opener, redshirt sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins was named as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.

In his first collegiate start, Haskins threw for 313 yards, the first time that an Ohio State quarterback had thrown for over 300 yards in his first start. He also threw five touchdowns, which is tied for the second-highest total in one game in Ohio State history and the most ever thrown in a first start.

Along with 77 points, Haskins helped lead the Ohio State offense to 721 total yards, scoring 10 touchdowns in Saturday’s season debut.

Ohio State will play Rutgers in the Big Ten opener on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium.
