The Ohio State University Police Division issued a public safety notice to the Ohio State community on Thursday warning of a trend of burglaries in residence halls.

“The Ohio State University Police Division has identified a crime trend in residence halls defined as burglary by Clery Act guidelines,” the notice read. “OSUPD is actively investigating four burglaries from unlocked, unattended residence hall rooms in Morrill and Lincoln Towers.”

The notice, which can be found here, included a picture of a suspect in the sting of crimes and encouraged anyone with information to contact police.

The incidents were reported to have occurred at varied times between November 19 and November 28 and items stolen included cash, credit cards, electronics and gaming systems.

The notice reminded students, living on- and off-campus, to not leave valuables unattended and to lock their doors and encouraged off-campus residents to take valuables with them if they were going back home after winter break.
