After one season at Ohio State, Alex Grinch is heading to Oklahoma.

The Buckeyes’ safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator will leave to join Sooner’s head coach Lincoln Riley’s staff and become Oklahoma’s defensive coordinator, making the hiring official on Friday night.

Grinch started his coaching career in Missouri in 2002, and was the defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach at Washington State prior to being hired at Ohio State.

In 2018, Ohio State allowed 245.2 passing yards per game and seven yards per play, giving up 18 passing touchdowns all season.

There is no news on who will be replacing Grinch on the coaching staff.
