Two separate robberies occurred off-campus over the weekend, but they are not believed to be related, according to a Neighborhood Safety Notice.

The first incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday near the 1700 block of North High Street. According to the notice, a man not affiliated with Ohio State flagged down Columbus Police and told them two suspects approached him and demanded money. The man was verbally threatened with a gun and the suspects recorded the interaction on their phone. The gun was never revealed to the victim, and the suspects fled southbound on North High Street.

According to the notice, the second incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of Williams Street and Norwich Avenue. The notice said that Columbus Police responded to an aggravated robbery in which a black vehicle pulled up behind the two victims and two unknown males exited the vehicle. One of the suspects revealed a gun and ordered the victims to give them everything that they had, and struck one victim over the head with the gun before fleeing back into the vehicle.

Suspect details are limited in both incidents, but the car being driven in the second incident was described as a four-door sedan, according to the notice.

Both crimes are currently under investigation with the Columbus Police Department, and anyone with information about these crimes are asked to call CPD at 614-645-4545.
