Ohio State women’s basketball shucked the Cornhuskers with a huge comeback win to get its season back on track on Sunday. 

Ohio State (12-9, 5-5 Big Ten) was able to avoid a three-game losing streak as it topped Nebraska (15-7, 5-6) 80-74. 

Ohio State came back from down 15 at half to force overtime, when junior guard Braxtin Miller hit a dagger 3 to put the Buckeyes up four with 34 seconds remaining. 

Miller finished the game with a team-high 17 points, all of which came in the second half and overtime.  

Ohio State outscored the Cornhuskers 46-25 during the final two frames and overtime to complete the comeback. The Buckeyes closed the overtime period with an 8-0 run to secure victory. 

Nebraska had three double-digit scorers, led by senior guard Hannah Whitish, who finished the game with 16 points on 4-for-8 shooting. Junior center Kate Cain added 14 of her own, and freshman forward Isabelle Bourne put up a career-high 13 points.

Three Buckeyes secured double-doubles, with sophomore forward Dorka Juhasz recording her fourth of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore forward Aaliyah Patty achieved her second of the year with 12 points and 12 rebounds. 

Freshman guard Kierstan Bell added her first career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. 

The double-double trio pushed Ohio State to a 64-49 rebounding edge on Nebraska. The Buckeyes secured 25 offensive rebounds resulting in 20 second chance points. 

Ohio State returns to action at 8 p.m. Thursday with a matchup at Illinois.
