After choosing Mark Kehres for the college tournament in October, Jeopardy has invited OSU student Joe Nathan to compete in the regular show as well.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity of winning,” said Nathan, a junior double majoring in political science and English.

Nathan was chosen as the alternate for the college tournament after taking two tests to qualify. He was then called by the producers a week later and asked to take another test to see if he would be eligible for the regular show.

“Nathan was an excellent contestant, and since we could only pick 15 college students, we thought he would do well against the adults,” said Joe Kagan, contestant coordinator for Jeopardy.

Nathan is looking forward to the warm California weather and meeting Alex Trebeck.

“I really just hope I make it to final Jeopardy,” Nathan said. “If I am asked a question on the politics of American History, I think I would do well in it.”

The taping of the tournament will be on Wednesday and air during the week of May 26-30, Kagan said.
