The Agricultural Administration Building was evacuated Friday afternoon after a fire alarm was pulled in response to smoke and the odor of something burning. The Columbus Fire Department responded to the alarm and quickly checked the building, clearing it for re-entry minutes later. No one was injured and no damage was done to the building.’Something got a little hot and someone upstairs panicked and pulled the alarm,’ said an unnamed Columbus firefighter.Air Quality Technician Steven Wells and a co-worker were cutting the access panel off with an acetylene torch so they could work on the vents core. The smoke from the work drifted up the ventilation system and accumulated on the first floor of the building.Students, staff and faculty were forced to wait outside for 15 minutes while the fire department arrived and inspected the building.
