Mischievous Baker Hall residents sent a flood cascading down the walls of the women’s restroom on the second floor on Friday.According to police reports, the resident adviser for ‘J’ wing of the second floor, discovered water leaking down the walls of the women’s restroom while investigating a complaint.When the resident adviser for ‘J’ wing on the third floor was contacted, he discovered that persons unknown had turned on all the hot and cold water taps in the men’s restroom, which is directly above the flooded women’s restroom.The resident adviser told police he heard people running out of the bathroom a few minutes earlier, but did not see anybody.Only residents of the ‘J’ wing have access to the restroom, and the door was locked when the restroom was investigated.Water damage to the women’s restroom and carpeting on the third floor totaled $500. Police have no suspects at this time.
Unknown scent in winter gear causes asthma attack
An OSU staff member claimed he was the victim of a malicious plot after his wool cap and face mask were sprayed with a mysterious liquid Thursday.The man told University Police he had placed the cap and mask on a coat rack in Rhodes Hall at about 2 p.m., and did not return until he finished his shift eight hours later.When the man attempted to place the mask over his face he discovered that it had been doused with an unknown liquid, possibly a perfume. He has a severe case of asthma, and after inhaling the liquid he suffered an asthma attack.According to police reports, the man believes the assault on his clothing was an act of retaliation by his co-workers for a promotion he received two weeks ago.The items of clothing permeated by the liquid can no longer be worn by the victim, and are valued at $27.Police have no suspects at this time.
Lap top computer stolen from Lincoln Tower
A lap top computer valued at $3,700 was reported stolen from the department of accounting Thursday.An OSU staff member told University Police the black IBM computer was stolen from the department’s office in Lincoln Tower 701 between Nov. 26 and Jan. 15.The department had recently changed the locks on the door after a turnover in department personnel, and the door to the office was locked.A memo sent through the department inquiring about the computer did not turn up any leads.Police have no suspects in the theft at this time.
Police find lost car at I-71 truck stop near Ashland
An OSU student’s search for her missing automobile ended last Wednesday when it was found outside a truck stop in Ashland County.The student told University Police her father notified her around midnight that her car, which had been missing since at least Tuesday, was discovered by an Ashland County deputy outside of the Trucks of America truck stop on Interstate 71.She last saw her car on Monday night, when she parked it in the Carmack Road parking lot. She did not know who took the car or how it ended up at the truck stop.According to the deputy who discovered the car, damage had been done to the 1987 Pontiac’s passenger window and steering column.Police have no suspects at this time.
