Following Ohio State’s 50-7 homecoming win against San Jose State, Fred Pagac Jr., an OSU backup linebacker, was arrested early Sunday morning by Columbus Police and charged with disorderly conduct.

According to a report filed with the Franklin County Clerk of Courts, Pagac, 21, was trying to fight with someone outside a bar near the corner of High Street and West Lane Avenue.

An officer told Pagac to stop, but he continued to try to fight.

Pagac was arrested at 3:45 a.m., posted bond and was released around 5 a.m. from the Franklin County jail.

An OSU athletics department spokesman said OSU football coach Jim Tressel had no comment until he had a chance to speak with Pagac.

Pagac is scheduled to be arraigned in the Franklin County Municipal Court tomorrow.

Persistent disorderly conduct is a fourth-degree misdemeanor that is punishable by a maximum 30 days in jail and a fine up to $250. This is reportedly Pagac’s first offense.

Pagac is a graduate from Dublin Coffman High School and has played in all seven OSU games this season as a backup linebacker for Matt Wilhelm.

Pagac’s father was a former OSU defensive coordinator and is the Oakland Raiders defensive assistant coach.

Pagac’s arrest is a continuation of Tressel’s long list of problems with players’ off-field behavior.

Before the start of the season, fullback Brendan Joe was arrested after he was found asleep in a car and refused a breath-analysis-test.

Senior and offensive captain Chris Vance was suspended for two games this season for undisclosed reasons.

Last season, quarterback Steve Bellisari was arrested for drunken driving and did not play in the next two games.
