University Police were notified of three more thefts at Larkins Hall this past week, which brings the total to 27 since the beginning of this quarter.

The past three incidents have all involved the theft of wallets while the victims used the facility. In one incident, a male victim locked his clothes and wallet in a locker on the first floor of Larkins. He locked his items with his own personal lock, and upon returning three hours later, found his wallet missing from his pants pocket.

In a second incident, another male victim had his wallet taken from his pants pocket near the Brown gym while he played basketball, and the third victim only reported his wallet missing.

During the investigation, police were notified by a custodian that he found three wallets in an area of the first floor locker room. Cash had been removed from all the missing wallets but most ID cards and credit cards were left behind. Police took the wallets to attempt to lift prints from them.

Graffiti ongoing campus problem

Feb. 13 – University Police were called to Sullivant Hall on reports of graffiti on a restroom wall. A contract cleaner called police to let them know of the incidents which occurred four times in the past 10 days.

The cleaner told police that the first three times, a gold metallic substance was used to write on the walls. The cleaner could not decipher what was written and simply washed it off the wall. After the fourth incident, the cleaner decided to call police and file a report. The fourth time, a silver metallic substance was used and neither the cleaner or police officer could decipher the writing.

Digital photographs were taken to submit to a file, and the cleaner said he would call police if any further incidents occur.

Alcohol leads to Judicial Affairs

Feb. 13 – Three separate incidents of disorderly conduct occurred last week, and all three cases ended with referral to Judicial Affairs.

In one incident, police were called to Taylor Tower on a report of an intoxicated female. The female was sitting in a chair, vomiting in a trash can. The female was unresponsive and unable to stand without assistance.

A Columbus medic unit was dispatched to the scene, and after medically clearing the intoxicated female, police transported her and two friends back to their residence hall room.

The student who called police told them that she had entered the other female’s room to find her passed out on the floor. She helped the intoxicated female into bed. Several minutes later, the intoxicated female fell from her bed.

Upon police arrival, the intoxicated female was found to be semi-conscious and bleeding with a large cut above her left eye. A medic was dispatched and determined that the she needed to be transported to Ohio State University Hospitals for treatment.

In a third incident, police and a medic were called to Bradley Hall on a case of alcohol poisoning. The female, who needed medical attention, reportedly consumed a large amount of vodka in a short amount of time.
