To the Editor:
I see you have placed an infomercial for Scientology in The Lantern.
As it lacks any journalistic balanced view of scientology and its inventor L. Ron Hubbard, I have to assume you or the university paid to run it. Can you tell me how much it took for your publication to look the other way when such overwhelming evidence is at your fingertips about what Scientology is really about; a cult of greed and power?
Why not let your readers know, for example, that Hubbard pleaded for psychiatric care when he felt he needed it, but how his followers were forbidden to do the same?
Did you know that people have died because they were withheld psychiatric medication? Well, they did and it is all a click away.
Shame on you for delivering a piece of advertisement without labeling it as such, and shame on you for putting fellow students at peril.
