To the Editor:
I am saddened and outraged at the news of Kermit’s death. He was one out of a group of nine chimpanzees recently banished by Ohio State to Primarily Primates in San Antonio, Texas.
I lived and worked at Primarily Primates from Sept. 2003 until Sept. 2004. Recently, I tried in vain to warn officials at the university that I didn’t believe the sanctuary would be a safe place for these chimps to retire.
No one listened and now one chimp is dead. What fate awaits the remaining eight?
