Benefits, paydays not reliable at OSU

I have never seen a more disorganized Payroll and Benefits Department until I arrived on the Ohio State campus. I have witnessed dozens of occasions where students and employees have not been paid on the regularly scheduled pay date. On several occasions their checks did not arrive until WEEKS later. This is an abomination. In fact, I believe that it violates federal and state laws to not pay an employee for work done. Perhaps, those persons who have experienced such problems should band together and file a class action lawsuit.Further, I have recently gone through a painful process with the benefits department. For no reason, my dental insurance was canceled. This caused an embarrassing situation between my dentist and I, as you can imagine. It took me hours and hours dealing with the OSU benefits department and the Delta Dental Insurance agency, before this could be straightened out. A lot of finger pointing occurred, which forced me to bounce around a variety of departments of both institutions until I could locate the exact person who could help me. Finally my insurance was reinstated, only to be canceled AGAIN several weeks later. More embarrassment, more hours on the phone, and now I am again at the mercy of the Benefits department whims again.I have worked for about six companies, and I have never experienced such problems. I suggest that the previously mentioned departments better provide the service that their entire existence is based upon.
