Making movies about college men drinking beer made Chris Miller famous. Miller, maybe best known for ‘Animal House’ will be speaking at the Ohio Union tomorrow.Fraternity life on college campuses has been forever stereotyped due to the success of the film, starring John Belushi, which is based on Miller’s own experience at Dartmouth College.’It’s classic,’ Karen Speer, a senior majoring in child development said. ‘When I was younger, that is what I actually thought college was all about.’Miller’s film work did not stop with renditions of college life.Since 1971, he has been a resident short story writer for the magazine Lampoon. Miller has been the author of numerous scripts and short stories including ‘Club Sandwich’ which was produced in 1985 as ‘Club Paradise’ starring Robin Williams.The most recent release in Miller’s film collections has been the screenplay, ‘Multiplicity,’ starring Michael Keaton.’He writes about topics everyone can relate to,’ Zack Bunker, a senior majoring in marketing said.Miller has been touring colleges and universities since 1974 with his one-man show during which he reads from his published works and relives past experiences, Lisa Montonaro, marketing coordinator for the Student Events Committee said.At 7 p.m. in the Ohio Union Conference Theater tomorrow, Miller will discuss his experiences as a writer, as well as cover his movies. The event is sponsored by SEC and admission is free.’Animal House’ will be shown in the Ohio Union Conference Theater at 8:30 p.m. after Miller speaks and is free.
