Sexism harmful as racism in comic
Mr. Yoakum, instead of using an ignorant statement such as “your opinion just isn’t allowed,” think about this first:In all of your past comic strips erase the woman and all references to her being a bitch, a whore and any other degrading phrase. Now, add a black man. Draw another character calling this person a nigger and see how many hate letters you receive. Now draw an Asian and another character calling this person a chink or whatever a racist, discriminative person would think or say. Now wait for the mail. There is no difference between what you are drawing and what I have just written. Either situation is uncalled for and discriminatory. No one is trying to take away your freedom of speech. We are just fighting for the respect that we deserve. If you weren’t a white male, you might understand how it feels to be discriminated against and harassed. Being a female, I get this a lot. But when trying to relax and get away from this by reading a comic strip and instead feel even more harassed, there is a problem. Any way that you look at this, you are wrong. What goes through your head when you write these, Mr. Yoakum? Obviously you were raised with no knowledge of respect or consideration.
