From the African American Heritage Festival to the Spring Sports Fest, an array of activities will entertain Ohio State this weekend.
Friday, April 25
* Hops and Handles Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament will be held at Larkins Hall from 2 to 5 p.m, featuring three-point shoot-outs, skills clinic, half-time games and prizes. Registration fee is $15 per team.
* The Spring “Jump-Off” Concert and Dance at the French Field House includes Roc-a-fella Records artists Freeway, Beanie Sigel, Entire State Property Crew and Curtis “DJ Wise” Brown from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets are available for OSU students at the Ohio Union Multicultural Center for $10 or through Ticketmaster for $15.
* The Jeremy Richter Effort band will be at Woody’s, located in the Ohio Union, at 9 p.m.
Saturday, April 26
* The annual Scarlet and Gray spring football game is at 1:30 p.m. in the Ohio Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at hangonsloppy.com or at the Department of Athletics Ticket Office in the Jerome Schottenstein Center for $5. Limited edition Jim Tressel bobbleheads and Nike apparel will be available in the Official Team Shop beginning at 9 a.m.
* Mahogany Moments, a semi-formal dinner and dance will be held at 8 p.m. in the Blackwell Inn. Exclusively for OSU students and their guests, tickets are available at the Ohio Union Multicultural Center for $15 per pair or $10 per individual.
* The Establishment will play Woody’s at 9 p.m.
* Spring Sports Fest, presented by Coca-Cola, will feature entertainment, sports, food and prizes across campus, beginning at 11 p.m.
* On South Campus, men’s and women’s basketball tournaments will take place on the courts on 11th Avenue, and Empathy, a local band, will also perform.
* On North Campus, co-ed volleyball teams can compete at the sand courts on Woody Hayes Drive.
* West Campus will host soccer tournaments and a DJ. Free food and drink, including fruit and Powerade for all participants, will be provided.
Winning and second place teams are eligible for a variety of prizes, including free books from SBX, DVD players and an X-BOX game system. A raffle will be stationed at each location and feature signed footballs from Jim Tressel and Archie Griffin. USG prefers registration prior to the event at the front desk of any residence hall, but students can register the night of the event.
Sunday, April 27
* Tri-BSA Cook-in and Barbecue in the Ohio Union East Ballroom will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
* Underground Railroad walking tour will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Ohio Staters, Inc. will highlight the history of the underground railroad.
