Union reaches agreement with university, forms contract

The Communications Workers of America Local 4501 approved a new three-year contract with Ohio State administration.

The contract was approved over the weekend and will last until March 31, 2006. The contract includes raises of 2.5, 2.5 and 2 percent for each of the contract’s years.

In 2000, the CWA Local 4501, whose members comprise most non-teaching and non-administrative positions at OSU, went on strike for three weeks, hampering many OSU services.

Representatives from both sides agreed the contract was reasonable for both the university and the union.
