I wanted to thank you for publishing Erik Johns’ fine column. Anyone from northeastern Ohio has the right to speak publicly about the enormous social cost of plant closure and capital flight.

We talked a lot about it in the 1980s, but then the talk died down.

I’m glad to see Ohio State students are watching their hometowns and thinking about what’s right and what’s wrong. These days, there’s a real risk to The Lantern, too – going public with ideas that question political decisions. Thanks for your backbone in printing his editorial.
