With gray slush still lining the curbs and freezing temperatures forecasted through the weekend, students may need some help to warm up for Valentine’s Day.
Explore Columbus, an OSU student ticket discount program, is lending a hand by offering $3 tickets to a special screening of “50 First Dates” at the Arena Grand Theatre Friday.
The romantic comedy stars Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. Barrymore first teamed up with the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member in the successful 1998 film, “The Wedding Singer.” The pair has reunited to share the screen in a story about a Hawaiian aquarium owner who falls for a woman with short term memory problems. Henry Roth (Sandler) has to repeatedly convince Lucy (Barrymore) that they are in love each time she loses her memory. Although the plot is reminiscent of the 1993 hit “Groundhog Day,” hopefully it will provide a fun-filled story to help moviegoers survive six more weeks of winter.
The movie begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Ohio Union Ticket and Information Center to students with a valid BuckID.
