High Street diversity depends on market
Should High Street business diversify? Of course it should, but whether or not it does will only be decided by the market. The reason High Street has Greek, Chinese, and Indian restaurants is not that someone has decided that having these restaurants adds to the cultural diversification of High Street businesses. They exist solely because there are demands for the services they provide. In other words, the owners of the businesses are able to make money from them. If they did not, the businesses would close down in no time. That’s the way it should be. The same is true for any business that “displays and celebrates Afrikan culture.” If it is economically viable, then someone should open one up and make some money. If it is not, then even if one is opened, it would not last. It’s that simple.
