AMC’s Lennox Town Center 24 has been marred by problems with parking, said the managing director of the movie theater.’We realize that parking is an issue, but the theater is new and parking problems are to be expected,’ said Scott Falkenhain, managing director of the theater.Falkenhain said, by using the west and main entrances of the parking lots off of Kinnear Road, patrons can avoid heavy traffic. The theater has parking for about 2,800 cars. Most people car pool so there is more than one person in a car, he said. Dan Cammarata, general manager of the theater, said patrons can park throughout the shopping complex. Additional traffic lights may be added to ease traffic woes, Cammarata added.’I have put together a slide show on how to eliminate traffic problems at the theater,’ Falkenhain said. ‘It will be shown during previews before movies and will be beneficial in resolving the parking dilemma.’In addition to the slide show, Falkenhain said Lennox is working with Ohio State and COTA to eliminate traffic and parking conflicts with additional busing. Rebecca Dalinhaus, a freshman majoring in occupational therapy, enjoyed her experience at the theater but found parking to be a problem.’I circled for about 10 minutes and still couldn’t find a spot,’ Dalinghaus said. ‘I was frustrated, but the 10 minutes was worth it for the experience I had at Lennox compared to other movie theaters.’Although parking is a dilemma right now, Falkenhain feels that it is only temporary and the experience of the theater will out weigh parking problems.Lennox Town Center is one of only about a handful of movie houses of its kind in the United States, Falkenhain said. Other theater companies and cinema complexes are using Lennox as a model for their own projects, he added.’Lennox Town Center is located in a perfect area,’ Falkenhain said. ‘Columbus was long overdue for a centrally-located movie theater that could easily be accessed by just about everyone.’ ‘I think the movies are affordable for the experience your receiving,’ Falkenhain said. ‘We are the only movie theater in Central Ohio that offers Sony six-track surround sound, stadium style seating and comfortable, adjustable seating with movable armrests.’Kelly Johnson, 26, a longtime moviegoer, enjoyed her first time at the theater and plans on returning.’The parking was a problem, but the facility is awesome. I have never been to a movie theater like it before,’ Johnson said. ‘I was surprised by how comfortable the seating was and the sound was like being right in the movie.’
