Media focusing on wrong stories

Listen up, people! The current government and national media are now certifiable as useless, amoral, unintelligent, elitist, and out of touch with reality. In the government, Democrats and Republicans seem to only care about their power base, and the media is missing the true stories just waiting to be talked about in the opinion sections of newspapers. What is this topic which should be more important than the President’s dog-naming, the two skiing accidents, and anything that has happened for the last few years? The very real threat of terrorism from the Middle East, specifically the Islamic fundamentalists. Recently, a leader of some of these groups, Ramzi Yousef, convicted in the World Trade Bombing, made this comment, “I support terrorism as long as it is used against the U.S. and Israel. You are more than terrorists. You are butchers, liars, and hypocrites.” This statement is nonsense because his form of terrorism is worse than any butcher, liar, or hypocrite since Adolf Hitler. These fundamentalists are more than willing to die in order to further their crazy religious beliefs.Another problem is that Iraq is now supposedly in possession of viruses that are 99 percent fatal when used on non-vaccinated patients. Either the U.S. or the U.N. should be destroying the chemical facilities in Iraq, or preparing vaccinations for everyone because chances are that terrorists could get a hold of this stuff and use it on us! Our government and media should be focusing on the true problems: international terrorism, the budget, and prevention of loss of life. Instead, the media’s big stories are about the president’s pets, Paula Jones, and a miniscule budget surplus. It’s time that our priorities be set right, or as a wise men once said, evil wins only when “good people do nothing.”
