USG e-mail effort disturbs student

Like many others of you out there, I woke up this morning with a very disturbing e-mail in my in-box. An Undergraduate Student Government candidate went ahead and sent an e-mail to the masses, promoting himself and his running mate for the upcoming USG elections. After covering every bulletin board at OSU with their propaganda, and after writing their names on practically every sidewalk on campus, why would they turn to e-mail to promote themselves? I personally do not know why they have done this. Before that e-mail, I had the vague idea that I WOULDN’T vote for those two candidates. Now, I am CERTAIN that I will not vote for them. While four of the eight candidates for USG president/vice-president candidates are talking about the issues that matter to students, the other half is just writing their names (like graffiti in the Ohio Union’s basement bathroom) on every corner of OSU’s campus, desperately scrounging for votes. I hope that everyone out there decides to vote for the candidate who best deserves it, and not the candidates who have made our campus ugly with chalk, invaded our e-mail to prostitute themselves and killed so many trees with all those flyers. Damn…I just became an environmentalist. I should stop.
