Police are still investigating an accident involving two Ohio State staff members that occurred at Lazenby Hall, early Friday morning. Floyd Meadows, 55, who suffered chest and other injuries, died during surgery Friday afternoon and Eugene Johnson, 37, is still hospitalized in fair condition with a broken leg after the two were hit by an out-of-control car. The driver of the car, Estelle Silbermann, 60, was also hospitalized with injuries, and was released Sunday. OSU Police Chief Ron Michalec said that Silbermann’s car has been impounded while forensics and mechanical tests are being done.The results of the tests will be given to the prosecutor, and it will be up to the prosecutor to decide whether to press charges.Police have yet to hear Silbermann’s side of the story. She has declined comment until she has had the opportunity to consult with an attorney.Silbermann backed out of a parking spot in Cunz Hall and hit an unoccupied car, then made a U-turn and jumped the curb that separates the Lazenby Hall parking lot. The car hit the men standing in front of the loading dock and then hit the building.
