I’m really tired of listening to complaints about Dan Quayle’s “so called non-political” speech on campus. I don’t have a problem with anyone complaining about his views, I’m just sick of morons griping that it was a “political” speech. Of course it was political. He’s a politician! Duh! What were you expecting him to talk about – baking recipes?I will confess that I don’t know the full details regarding his invitation to OSU, and I didn`t even attend the event. Maybe someone promised that he wouldn’t talk about politics, I don’t really know. But even if someone did make such a guarantee, why did you simpletons believe it? Dan Quayle is a former Vice President and may run for President. We have an election in less than a week. Given these facts, which should be common knowledge, Why is it such a shock to some people that he had a political agenda in his speech?Use some common sense people. Next month, Bill Cosby is appearing at the Schott. For those of you who may see the show, don’t complain that all he did was sit around telling jokes. He’s a comedian! Duh!
