A woman killed Friday in a car accident near campus was less than a year away from graduating with her doctorate in biochemistry. Tracy Schuenemann, 27, wanted to eventually teach at the collegiate level, said her boyfriend Sam Napolitano. She served as a teaching and lab assistant to associate professor of chemistry Ross Dalbey. “She was very well-liked and really highly motivated,” Dalbey said.Her only sister, Beth Schuenemann, said people who knew her are in a state of shock. Beth said her sister had a huge number of friends.Napolitano said he “will miss her overall joy of life…living every day at the fullest potential.”Funeral services have been planned for 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church (6901 Ridge Road) in Parma, Ohio. Following the service, there will also be a luncheon at Baldwin Wallace College’s student union beginning at 12:30 p.m.Friends may call at Chambers Funeral Home (4420 Rocky River Drive) in Cleveland. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Schuenemann graduated summa cum laude from Baldwin Wallace in 1993 with degrees in chemistry and biology.The accident occurred near the corner of Lane and Neil avenues. Charges have not been filed in the accident involving two cars, but a representative from the Columbus Division of Police’s accident investigation team said he expects they will be filed.
