Students who have yet to make spring break plans should not despair because the Tallahassee Bare-Devils nudist park is hosting a “Nude College Greek Athletic Meet” on March 24 near Monticello, Fla.
A beach towel, sunscreen and one’s birthday suit is all a person will need for the seventh annual event that is free to all nude participants.
Individuals from 17 nearby colleges, as well as any college students visiting Florida for spring break, are welcome to attend the nudist club.
This athletic event does not mean Greek as in fraternities and sororities, but Greek as in the original Olympics.
Because “gymnasium” is an ancient Greek word meaning “to exercise naked,” hosts of the TBD nudist park want people to experience what it felt like to be a student in ancient Greece.
For example, a Greek student’s goal was to achieve a well-developed body and mind over the year so they could present themselves naked before the gods as an act of worship.
Different competitions that will take place include nude-events of long jump, discus and 200-yard dashes. If there is a tie, a stand-up wrestling match will take place.
The rules for each event will be “loose” because the nudist park wants college students to enjoy the true freedom of nude athletics.
The hosts at the TBD nudist club want college students who want to experience athletics on a balanced and natural level.
So even if students considered themselves wimps, they are encouraged to participate in the “coolest thing to do on spring break.”
The traditional victory wreaths of leaves will go to the best overall college student in each game.
Other activities nude participants can enjoy include skinny-dipping, sunbathing, volleyball, Frisbee and nature trails.
Although no experience is needed to play, students who would rather be spectators can pay the nudist club a fee of $15 to be at the park during the event.
The only catch for the Nude College Greek Athletic Meet is everyone on the grounds must be nude, and no cameras allowed.
