Though it is still early on Signing Day for college football, the Ohio State football team has already received a number of a letter-of-intents to sign from high school athletes across the nation.

Here is an early list:

WR Devon Jordan (Massillon Washington) — The 6-foot-3-inch wide receiver caught 101 passes for 1,511 yards during his junior season.

DB/WR Tony Gonzalez (Cleveland St. Ignatius) — The defensive back/wide receiver made 53 tackles and had six interceptions during his junior season. He could also play wide receiver for the Buckeyes, but will be look at as a cornerback first.

DB Curt Lukens (North Canton Hoover) — At 6-3, Lukens impressed Buckeye scouts at the OSU advanced camp where he ran well for a player of his size. Played linebacker in high school, registering 120 tackles, but will probably be looked at as a strong safety.

DL David Patterson (Warrnesville Heights) — Patterson had over 100 tackles and 17 sacks as a senior. A four-year varsity starter in high school, Patterson also started on offense.

OL Kirt Barton (Massillon Perry) — The 6-6 Barton played tight end in a run-oriented offense at Perry, but will probably move to guard at OSU.

DB Ashton Youboty (Houston, Tex.) — Youboty impressed scouts at the OSU summer camp. He played safety in high school, but will probably be shifted to corner for the Buckeyes.

DB Donte Whitner (Cleveland Glennville) — Whitner, a consensus first-team all stater, graduated from high school early to attend OSU winter quarter in order to participate in spring drills.

DL Brandon Maupin (West Chester Lakota) — Maupin will probably be an interior lineman for the Buckeyes. He is ranked in the top 15 at any position by Ohio Football Recruiting News.

DB Darius Hiley (Cleveland Glenville) — Hiley could play a number of positions in college, but will probably get most of his time at defensive back. He could also play wide receiver or running back.

DL Sian Cotton (Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) — Cotton was a three-year starter for the football team, along with being the sixth man on the basketball team.

TE Louis Irizarry (Youngstown Ursuline) — Irizarry is considered one of the top tight end prospects in the nation. Originally committed to OSU, then switched to Miami (Fla.). Finally decided to commit to the Buckeyes.

S/RB Ira Guilford (Hoboken, N.J.) — Guilford committed very early to the Buckeyes and could play either on offense or defense.

DE Marcel Frost (Lyndhurst Brush) — Frost also committed early to OSU and will join an already strong defensive front.

DL Evans Desir (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) — Desir is a junior college transfer who played at West Hills Community College outside of Fresno, Calif. He will be at OSU for spring drills.
