May 3: An unidentified student attempted to commit suicide by taking about eight sleeping pills at one time. After taking the pills, she called University Police from her dorm room in Morrill Tower because she became frightened. When police arrived on the scene, she explained that she was upset because she had broken up with her boyfriend. She was admitted to the Ohio State University Medical Center for further treatment, according to University Police.
Student caught for misbehavior
May 2: An unidentified student was arrested for disorderly conduct in Morrill Tower. A residential advisor called University Police when he found the drunk student. When the officer arrived, the student was found on the bathroom floor with vomit all over her clothes. She had been drinking rum and coke at a party earlier in the night, according to University Police.
Men arrested for harassing a nurse
May 1: Two men attacked a nurse working in Doan Hall. They grabbed her arms and tried to keep her in the elevator. One of the men pulled her and tried to force her to kiss him. The nurse escaped from the elevator and contacted security. Both men were found and arrested for assault and unlawful restraint. According to University Police, the men appeared to be drunk.
Bike thieves appear near Hitchcock Hall
April 29: Two men attempted to steal a bike from the bike racks on the northeast side of Hitchcock Hall. A staff member confronted the thieves, and one of the men pulled a knife from his pocket and said, “If you come near me, I cut you.” Then both men ran toward the business school. Later the staff member reported he had seen the men lingering around the north area of campus a couple days after the incident, according to University Police.
Valuables stolen from Larkins Hall
April 26: A book bag, a pair of tennis shoes, a MasterCard, a pair of sweat pants and some camera equipment were stolen from a room in Larkins Hall. The camera equipment was worth around $3,000. Joseph Delany, the cheerleading coach at Ohio State, reported he locked the door where he stores the equipment, but an unidentified person broke the lock and got into the room. According to University Police, there are no suspects at this time.
