Jesse Keeler of MSTRKRFT relaxes at BOMA. The electronic duo played their first show in Ohio Thursday.
Toronto natives and electro artists Jesse F. Keeler and Alex Puodziukas performed in Ohio for the first time Thursday at the Bar of Modern Art downtown.

The duo, who perform as the DJ group MSTRKRFT, performed a pre-recorded set opened by Felix Cartal and Congorock.

“This venue is the best I’ve ever played in,” Cartal said of BOMA, which used to be a church. Cartal, 21 years old, is a native to Vancouver and spins electro, electronica, and techno music, coordinating well with the funky beats of MSTRKRFT.

The headlining act played their own music, as well as mash-ups featuring other pop, rock and rap artists. The lighting effects featured LCD lights and 24 color monitors, all synched to the sound.

The crowd sported bar-popular glow sticks, some donned in the MSTRKRFT logo, a gold hockey mask.

MSTRKRFT will be touring across America to promote their new album “Fist of God” through the rest of the month.
