Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced on his weekly radio show that junior defensive end Nick Bosa had undergone surgery for a core muscle injury. His timetable for return is unknown at this point, according to the head coach.

“We hope to get him back as soon as possible,” Meyer said.

Bosa left in the third quarter of Ohio State’s 40-28 win over then-No. 15 TCU and did not return to the game. Meyer announced in his press conference Monday the junior defensive end would miss Saturday’s game against Tulane.

On this week’s depth chart ahead of the Buckeyes’ matchup with the Green Wave, junior Jonathon Cooper and sophomore Chase Young are each starting at defensive end with Bosa sidelined. Freshman defensive linemen Tyler Friday and Tyreke Smith could receive more playing time after Bosa’s injury, as well as redshirt junior Jashon Cornell.

No. 4 Ohio State will take on Tulane at Ohio Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
