For students who are unable to get the Student Affairs Rose Bowl package, several campus travel agencies are offering Rose Bowl packages of their own.Regency Travel Emporium, 1908 N. High St., is offering a two-person, four-night Rose Bowl package for $1,599. The package includes game tickets, air travel, complete ground transfers and other features.Bill Altman, travel consultant for Regency Travel Emporium, said that most students want the cheapest accommodations possible. Many students just want plane tickets, and will try to find game tickets and hotels on their own, Altman said. A round-trip ticket to Los Angeles in December can cost about $700.Students can find a cheaper way to Pasadena by not flying into Los Angeles, he said.’If they got the time, students can fly into San Francisco or San Diego,’ Altman said. After they arrive in California, they can drive or take the Amtrak to Los Angeles, he said.Pat Manville, travel agent for Omega Student Travel located in the Ohio Union, said Omega’s Rose Bowl packages cost about $1,600 for three nights. Most students cannot afford Rose Bowl packages, he said.’When I tell them the price, their faces turn pale,’ Manville said.Students can save money by buying non-ticket packages, he said. A non-ticket package will cost about $300 less.
