Damaged machine gives free food
Jan. 31: An AVI vending machine was damaged, allowing free food to fall from it. A report was sent to AVI that people were receiving free items from a snack machine in Baker Systems.
It was discovered that necessary parts of the machine had been pried off. No entry was gained to the inside of the machine, but products could be removed by shaking the machine, causing the spiral product holders to move forward to the glass in the door and dropping the product into the dispensing tray.
The machine has now been bolted to the wall to prevent this from happening again.
