The Ohio State Landlord Library, created by the Undergraduate Student Government, was distributed to OSU students last week to help students living off campus next year make the right rental decisions.
“Utilizing the resources and information presented, such as the tenant tips, the form letters, the checklists and of course the ratings will hopefully allow students to feel more comfortable with whom they decide to rent from,” said Amanda Bonkowski, the USG member who is in charge of compiling the publication.
The magazine offers tips to residents about what they should know before, during and after they move out.
“It’s something I’ve looked through, and it seems to have a lot of good information,” said Jered Neidhart, a sophomore in mechanical engineering.
Others may not think the ratings of the real estate agencies have a major effect on a student’s decision to rent or not to rent from a particular company.
“It’s hard to find a place when you’re competing with so many other people. I don’t know how beneficial it actually is,” Neidhart said.
