Former Ohio State linebacker Marco Cooper appeared before a judge yesterday in a jumpsuit and handcuffs for his first hearing of a probation revocation for violating his probation after he was arrested last month for possession of cocaine.
On Dec. 16, Cooper, 20, was pulled over by police and cocaine was found in the car he was driving.
Judge Michael H. Watson set a Feb. 5 date for a second hearing for Cooper’s felony count of possession of cocaine. Cooper also violated his probation by driving with a suspended license and not reporting to his probation officer.
Just one month prior, Cooper had been sentenced to five years of probation and 100 hours of community service for felony drug and weapons charges stemming from an April 27 arrest.
As Cooper left the courtroom, Judge Watson told the former football player, “Marco, you shouldn’t be in this position.”
