Oct. 21: A fictitious student parking permit for the Tuttle garage was discovered in a Toyota truck parked in the ROTC parking lot. The owner of the truck was contacted. He stated the actual garage permit was sent to him mistakenly through the mail and he reproduced the fictitious permit using a computer scanner.
The man was ordered to pay fines to Transportation and Parking Services and the case was referred to Student Judicial Affairs for student misconduct.
Two arrested for drug possession
Oct. 22: University Police stopped a Pontiac Trans Am for speeding along Cannon Drive and West 9th Avenue. The officer was issuing a citation when he noticed the driver folding a towel in his hands and then dropping it on the floor beneath the passenger’s seat.
The officer proceeded to conduct a search of the vehicle when a small piece of white debris dropped from the passenger’s pocket.
It was a rock that tested positive for cocaine, and officers found several more pieces of the substance folded in the towel. Both men in the car were arrested for possession of drugs.
Board stolen from Buck-I-Mart
Oct. 24: A student working at the Tuttle Cop-Ez store witnessed two men stealing a dry-erase board from the sidewalk outside Buck-I-Mart.
The student observed the two men pick up the board and carry it into the Tuttle parking garage, where they placed it in the back of a small turquoise-colored pickup truck and drove away.
Man unconscious on bench arrested
Oct. 26: A University Police officer discovered a man lying unconscious on a bench at the corner of North High Street and W. 15th Avenue The man had visible contusion marks on his face and blood on his clothing. He stated he obtained them during a fight and refused medical treatment.
A routine warrant check was run and police determined the man had three outstanding traffic warrants for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested.
