Following his loss in Tuesday’s pivotal Florida primary, Republican Rudy Giuliani dropped out of the race for president and promptly endorsed Sen. John McCain.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee will be the next major candidate to abandon his bid. However, a Huckabee endorsement (should he give it when he drops) will not have nearly as much of an impact on his endorsee’s campaign as typical backings of their sort have had in the past.

Huckabee’s supporters would find the two remaining candidates greatly lacking in, among other things, conservatism, an issue that will significantly drain voter turnout among the GOP and will cost them the election.
