A note of concern to Lantern readers
With the amount of controversial material which gets printed in the Lantern each week, I find it amazing the lack of response from the students on this campus and our readers.Does no one find what goes on on the Ohio State campus interesting or provocative?Take for example what’s going on with the crane incident in which one man was left dead on Lane Avenue. The case involving the driver of the crane, Mark Burcher, went to the grand jury this week. And Burcher’s blood alcohol level of .17 was revealed, with his attorneys refuting the fact that it had anything to do with the crane falling over. Now, this is a pretty controversial, heated story right now, yet for some bizarre reason, no one on this campus, it seems, has an opinion about it. Maybe it’s the fact that people are too busy with classes, work, what have you, and don’t want to take the time to write a short letter expressing their opinion.Whatever.This is not meant to chastise – well, okay, it is because I find it very hard to believe that on a campus this size, we have such few interested readers who care to express their opinions. If that is true, the fact that few are motivated to ventilate, then it’s a sad state of affairs, almost pathetic, if you pardon my frustration.
