The sun will come out on Tuesday when the Fifth Third Bank Broadway Series brings back the Broadway hit “Annie.”The Series is presenting a repeat performance in the Palace Theatre after a sold-out engagement of “Annie” at the Ohio Theatre in January.”`Annie` is one of our five top-selling shows of all time,” said Laurie Pomerson, managing director of the Series, which has just begun its 11th year of bringing nationally touring Broadway shows to Columbus.”Annie” first graced the stage in 1977, winning seven Tony Awards. It is the 11th longest running show in Broadway history with 2,377 performances.Conrad John Schuck and Brittny Kissinger will return in the leading roles as Daddy Warbucks and as Annie, respectively. Both Schuck and Kissinger have played the roles on Broadway and also made the trip to Columbus for the winter performance, Pomerson said.Annie won`t be the only orphan in the show. Adopt-A-Pet Columbus will help an orphaned dog find a home after it appears in the Friday performance, said Paul Chakrofs, executive director for the pet adoption agency. The dog will be carried across the stage in the role of a stray dog. The dog, who will be up for adoption, can be greeted in the theatre lobby during intermission and after the show on Friday.”It seems like a natural association for Adopt-A-Pet and `Annie,`” Chakrofs said. “Given the success, we are going to pursue more programs like this.”The 20th anniversary production of “Annie” will play eight shows July 28 through August 2 at the Palace Theatre, 34 W. Broad St. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., including matinee performances Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.Ticket prices range from $27.50 to $46, with a special on all remaining seats for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances for $31.
