The Ohio State women’s hockey team will wrap up their home season this weekend when they host St. Cloud State. The Buckeyes are coming off a weekend sweep of Minnesota State-Mankato. OSU needs a win or two ties to finish the regular season alone in fourth place in the WCHA.”After last weekend we built some confidence, had some fun and felt some success. We hope to carry that into this weekend with St. Cloud,” said coach Jackie Barto. The Buckeyes will look to the line of Corinne Rosen, Shana Frost and Lindsey Ogren to continue their successful play from last weekend. The line combined for five goals and seven assists for a total of 12 points last weekend.”Corinne, Shana and Lindsey Ogren are playing very good hockey. They’re a threat every time they take the ice,” Barto said.”Everyone really contributed last weekend. I think we want to bring our positives and attitudes from the weekend and generate more scoring,” Rosen said.OSU will look to continue its solid defense and goaltending this weekend. Last weekend, the Buckeyes allowed just 22 shots on goal and stopped 20 of those shots.”It’s important that we create a lot of scoring opportunities, and that will start by us playing solid in our defensive end,” Barto said. The puck drops at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the OSU Ice Arena.
