Former Ohio State professor Mary Roznowski Quicksall, 41, of Columbus, died Thursday.
She was raised in DuQuoin, Ill., and earned her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Illinois, where she was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Quicksall joined the OSU faculty in 1987 as assistant professor of industrial and organizational psychology. She became an associate professor and received tenure in 1993, leaving the university in March of 1999.
Throughout her career, Quicksall published 29 articles in various journals and presented more than two dozen papers at conferences. Although she received great praise for her research and writings, her greatest satisfaction came from providing guidance to more than a dozen aspiring teachers and business professionals who were her advisees.
While Quicksall was a passionate teacher, she found her greatest passion in religion. She studied, memorized and applied the Bible in her daily life and was constantly in seek of the Lord’s guidance in problems of all magnitudes.
Quicksall was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Jerome and two brothers Richard and Stephen. Surviving her are her mother, Martha, of DuQuoin; her husband, Brad Quicksall; and four brothers: Tom, Charles, Mark and Terry.
Funeral services were held in DuQuoin on March 25, and a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Vineyard Church, 6000 Cooper Rd. in Columbus.
