When you go to the polls tomorrow, I urge all of you to vote Republican so that we can move ahead and strive for a better America. The Democrats have done nothing but try to make our president look bad so they can try to gain seats in the House and Senate.
Senator Daschle, in a speech made within the last few weeks, told President Bush, “Mr. President, stop politicizing this war.” I say to Daschle and the rest of the Democrats: stop politicizing the death of a senator and his family for your own political gains. The event is a perfect example of them thinking only of themselves.
With the recent events surrounding the D.C.-area snipers, there are new cries from gun control lobbyists saying we need to have tougher gun laws. The Democrats are saying they just want to alter a few rules to limit the types of guns that could be purchased. In reality, these new rules, once implemented, would ultimately lead to the abolishment of our gun rights promised by the Second Amendment.
The Democrats also seem to have no qualm about the fact that we have many federal court positions across the country that are going unfilled. They claim the president is trying to stack the courts with bigots, sexists and extreme conservatives. In reality, the appointees of the president have been endorsed by those very people they claim are being discriminated against. We need to take the Senate back to ensure these positions are filled and that our Constitution be upheld.
The Democrats have also been crying about the state of our economy, saying the president has been focusing too much on foreign affairs and not enough on domestic affairs. In reality, although not written, the executive branch is the foreign policy branch and the legislative branch is the domestic policy branch.
Don’t blame the President for the state of our economy and don’t applaud Clinton for the economy of the 1990s. The economy of the 1990s boomed because the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress. If you want to get our economy back on track, and you want our government to get things done, go to the polls tomorrow and vote Republican for a better America.
