Like all liberal hack writers, the writers at The Lantern criticize the government actions without looking into the reasons for these actions or offering any other viable options that the government could have taken or can take.

Wednesday, the hacks criticized the United States for not protecting the Iraqi History Museum. To quote Donald Rumsfeld, “While the museum was being looted, a few blocks away American soldiers were being killed; you tell me where our priorities are.”

And how would you liberals have prevented the looting? The City of Columbus has trouble controlling a few thousand rioting unarmed students while using tear gas and rubber bullets. How can you expect a small American force – under 30,000 in Baghdad, a city of over 3 million – to control rioting and looting without having to use deadly force?

The Iraqi civilians have AK-47s and other weapons in vast quantities and would have fought back, maybe causing intense street fighting that thankfully hasn’t occurred in Baghdad yet.

The only thing that turns sentiment against you faster than allowing looting is using force to stop it. What would you have done, asked them politely to stop? You know you would be crying like a bunch of liberals if the army had shot looters.

Then you complain that the United States hasn’t found weapons of mass destruction yet. This from the same people who were perfectly happy with 12 years of failed U.N. inspection teams and would have been happy with 12 more years.

I don’t understand your logic. 12 years – “no problem; give them more time.” Around a month – “that’s way too long, the United States sucks.” I know the United States guarded the oil fields and the oil ministry, but they did this because this is Iraq’s future.

Money from oil can feed Iraqis and give them the economic resources to develop into a modern civilized country. A 4,000-year-old vase cannot. The future is far more important than the past. There were limited resources in the country and the United States did the best they could with what they had.

Don’t criticize just because you hate Bush; be honest and give the United States some time in finding the WMD’s as you were willing to give the United Nations. To do anything less would be hypocritical.
