I am writing in regard to President Bush’s announcement, before the invasion of Iraq, that he had certain knowledge of the exact locations of Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. If this were true, then why are the U.S. troops having such a problem in locating them?
Bush announced to the world and Congress that he indeed had knowledge of the locations of these weapons, which leads me to believe that he indeed lied to the world (and worse of all, to Congress) in an attempt to gain support for his invasion.
Remember former President Bill Clinton and his lies regarding Monica Lewinsky? Well, he was impeached for those lies, so why in the world are Americans and Congress allowing Bush to get away with a much more serious lie? He never had the knowledge he claimed to have and it’s a matter of public knowledge he did lie. If anyone doubts me, all they have to do is research and see what Bush, Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld knew regarding the locations of these weapons.
Bush is getting away with his total lack of respect for the Americans, Congress and the world, who he lied to so he could gain support for his invasion. Are people really this blind to the truth? I am writing this because I feel, as an American, this should be investigated.
I have been asked why I would send a letter to a newspaper other than in my state of Florida. My answer is simple. This is a matter for all Americans to be concerned about; not just those in Florida, but throughout the United States of America and the world.
