Philip Bennet Drake III, 18, of West 11th Avenue, was arrested during a traffic stop Friday for a DUI at the intersection of West 11th Avenue and College Road. He was transported to the Upper Arlington police department and then to the University Police department for processing before being released.

Eric Christopher Massaro, 18, of Wooster, Ohio, also was arrested during the same traffic stop for offenses involving underage consumption in a motor vehicle. He was transported to the university police department for processing.

Four caught on old arrest warrants

A few outstanding warrants were served as arrests were made during the past week.

Joseph G. Schupak was detained by the Ohio Highway Patrol on an outstanding warrant, which was issued by University Police who arrested him and transported him to the Franklin County Jail.

Henry M. Liono was stopped by Columbus police, also on an outstanding university department warrant. University police escorted him to the Franklin County Clerk’s Office for settlement.

Andrew R. Brubake, 20, was arrested on an outstanding warrant through the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. Brubaker was transported to the University Police Department for processing and then taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Donald Wayne Bayes, 33, was arrested Thursday for an outstanding warrant with the Columbus Division of Police. Bayes was stopped on Curl Drive near the North Commons as a suspicious person.

A warrant check resulted in an active warrant issued by Columbus Police. He was subsequently transported to the Franklin County Jail. His mountain bike and two boom boxes were taken for safekeeping.

Separate incidents end in three arrests

Three separate incidents Saturday ended similarly, as DUI arrests were made.

Chadwick T. Irving, 20, was arrested for DUI at the corner of 10th Avenue and Highland Street.

Jason A. Fretz, 22, was arrested for a DUI at the intersection of Fyffe Road and Lane Avenue.

Thomas R. Wangler, 20, was arrested for a DUI at Cannon and Woody Hayes drives.
