I am writing to express my sincere distress over the changes in the OSU policy for ticket disbursement. The university cites that the Department of Athletic’s new policy is designed to reduce ticket scalping and maximize ticket availability for faculty, staff and students. I suggest that it is for an entirely different reason, one of which may be financial gain. We are not fooled by this seemingly noble gesture of the university and most of us (because we are highly educated, after all) can logically follow the sequence of such actions. The scalpers will only increase their price to the purchasers who we all know will pay just about anything to see an Ohio State Football Game. If they want to get rid of the scalpers why don’t they simply kick them off of campus on football Saturdays, they are pretty easily identified. It is those of us that truly enjoy the spirit and comraderie experienced at the football games that are going to be extremely inconvenienced.
